As a recent Federal Computer Week article highlights (Senator says his office computers were hacked, March 23, 2009, FCW.com), new legislation is currently being drafted to help address cyber security concerns on Capital Hill. One of the bills authors, Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) recently said his office computer was hacked on several occasions, as were the computers used by three of his staff members. The new legislation will attempt to, among other things, require intelligence and homeland security officials to perform regular vulnerability assessments.
